Darrel received his Certified Financial Planner ™ certification(CFP®) in1989 from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Education from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. Darrel’s financial experience incorporates teaching mathematics (1977-1980), managing the Howard County School Systems Budget Office(1980-1990) and providing individual financial planning to his many clients (1990-present). He was associated with a Registered Investment Advisor and an experienced in Long-Term Care and Charitable Giving strategies. His practice specialized in providing comprehensive financial planning for the retirement and estate-planning client.
Darrel has been a 40-year resident of Howard County and a former member of the Howard County Council. He has since moved to Florida and, in 2019, he set up his own independent Florida LLC in order to continue providing financial planning services.
Darrel and his wife, Dori, have three grown sons, five grandchildren and a continually growing family. In his free time, Darrel relaxes by skiing, playing tennis, hacking at golf, reading and RV’ing with his family.
